  • Socks, Flo?

I'm up early today as we are going to be very understaffed in work and I thought I might as well try to get a decent head start. Thank goodness it's nearly the weekend again.

Just cut round the edge of the plantpot on yer ed! My dad used to give me a bowl cut when I was a nipper!

          • No haircuts for me today (I do it myself and don't even need a bowl - long hair, combed into a pony tail but at the front of my head, take scissors, cut end off - final effect looks layered and gives surprising volume to a thin head of hair, not much good if you have short hair though!).

So no haircut and no socks either, not very sure why as they would be a good idea.

67 mm of rain yesterday, so that's 150 so far. More today apparently. Yesterday's lot was a bit steadier, so although lots of it is running off down the drainage channel, the fields are under water, so it'll be soaking in. Over 7 million litres of rain have fallen on our land alone. And there's plenty of valley up above us. With any luck, the underground vein of water will be slowly refilling.

Friday. More work for today and the weekend, but all under control. Thank goodness.

            Have a great day, everyone.

                    • The socks were to stop the shoes rubbing, not for the cold, but served both purposes as it happened! Haircuts look good, still having a basin cut Snadger? That's one of the main reasons my five brothers couldn't wait to leave home. My three sisters also endured the put a pony tail in chop!

                      • You women are a funny lot, I always wear socks but didn't think it was worth mentioning
and Snoop here we think getting 67mm of rain in a week is good, it usually indicates the rain stopped sometimes
Jay, if you call 999 that means there is an emergency and they need to respond quite quickly, where as if you phone 101 there is a good chance it will be gone by they respond to the call
it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Never test the depth of the water with both feet

                          • Something in the back of my head is telling me that wheat straw can be used and same something is telling me The straw needs to be in a mesh net. I'm probably talking garbage and will now go google it .

                            • Well google says Straw will slow down or restrict algae growth but won't kill existing algae but google also says it doesn't affect duckweed.
