  • Thanks, guys. The real problem with the dog will be afterwards. At the moment, she doesn't know she's not well. Just got a funny bump on her leg, but she doesn't even worry it. Afterwards, she'll have to have one of those huge hood-cum-collar affairs and she'll be wearing it for a month. She's a busy dog, loves a mission, so being stuck in that will be awful for her. Plus, she and her brother are extremely close and he and her mum will be wanting to clean the wound all the time. It's going to be a trying time all round.

Thanks for the soup advice, Nicos. I've decided on onion, broccoli stump (florets for lunch today), courgette, lamb's lettuce, some chickpeas for starch and a bit of blue cheese for extra flavour and acidity. Reckon it'll turn out quite nice. I have a soup I call 'green' soup for the assorted bits and bobs that are left over. I'll just say it's that. French soup sounds far too grand for what I have in mind!

      • The above posts have gave me the idea of putting some salad leaves that have gone too large for eating into a veg soup I will be making in a day or so, I have never tried doing that, but nothing ventured nothing gained

          • Evening all, Been a nice day here but with occasional showers. Now very chilly and a frost looms. Brrrrh.
Ive been waiting for over a week for a heated propagator off Fleabay (thats a week beyond the expected delivery date) and it's still not here. I've started a complaint and been asked to wait a few more days as it is in the Royal Mail system. That intrigued me so I asked on the local Facebook page if anyone else was having delivery delays. Surprise, surprise. A big response complaining about delays with Royal Mail deliveries. Hmmmph, action needed but what?

                • Morning, frosty here too
Just made blueberry and lemon oat muffins for breakfast to warm me up.
Still not back on the diet, just can’t get up the enthusiasm....
Getting chilly, but still lovely when the sun creeps out - if you’re indoors that is
Have a lovely day folks, whatever you’re up to

                        • Rained in the night and raining again now. Tee hee!

Mind you, all this cloudy weather is no good for the solar panels (and hence the freezer...). Still water in the well is a good swap for petrol in the generator in my book.

                          Work calls, as per.

                          Have a great day, everyone.

                            • Mornin n'allnall!

                              Halloween today.
I always do a little something with the food and decorations -mostly for my inner child
Drawn faces on clementines...washed and dried a few leaves to sprinkle on the table...lots of candles to eat by....
In France they remember their dead tomorrow( it's a bank holiday) and place a pot of crysanths on family graves. I like to mull over happy times with members of my family who aren't living anymore...particularly my father. It feels respectful to share memories.

Today I shall mostly be ironing, domestics and hopefully fit in a bit of crafting.
If it stays dry I'll chop off some seedheads for sowing next year.
Best get a wiggle on once I've finished my cuppa.....

                              • Good afternoon. What a lovely crisp, sunny day it's been. Got out fairly early and spent it on the lotty. Just put the slow cooker on with white beans and a selection of freshly picked veg while Mrs B's pickling jalapenos.
Nice to put my feet up.
