I have stonks of domestic stuff to do as well as gardening, preserving, crafting plus helping a friend put together some IKEA kitchen units

          • Morning all. Mild and misty. Went looking for wild mushrooms yesterday and not one, it's just too dry (to the point of being dusty under the trees). Seems ages since we had a proper downpour.
Funny you should mention Ikea Nicos, that's where we're planning to visit today.

Mild and the sun is just poking its head through the mist. Possibly the plots today....

Not too bad a start to the day here, not too nippy outside
Amazed to hear about Rary’s shoe collection. Is he related to Imelda?
I have multiples of sandals and boots. Dress shoes is one black low heeled court, for funerals and the like.

                      • Terrible news about your hiking boots, Rary. Could you not find anyone to put a new sole on them?

So, today's news: very dull weather at the moment. Rain still forecast. Had a firewood delivery (at long last) yesterday, so am planning on keeping warm at least. Work for me. Not decided on lunch, but definitely carrot and coriander soup for supper. Yum!

                        Have a good day, everyone.

Just so's you know, I deleted a huge paragraph about my footwear. I thought it interesting at the time, but realised before posting that it wasn't. Just goes to show what an exciting life I lead.

Edited: Dog not going to the vet's today after all. Emergency at the vet's, so she'll go in a couple of weeks.

                        • Good afternoon all,Rary you got a lot more foot ware than I have, well,i have been a very good girl and altered a pair of trousers for MR,i'ts all an experiment to see how he copes,if all ok,i will make some new ones from scratch again,i still have the pattern and lots of fabric ext,all gathered over the years,i have a lump of the same fabric,so was able to replace the waist band completely, sooo,i let out darts, side seams and back ext,to make it wider, then replaced with a elasticated band,i left the fly intact for use,i was fed up with seeing him in jogging bottoms,so they on trial for a couple of days,i hate alterations, but i have to see if it works out before cutting and waisting fabric, the other pic is some of my collection

The Scots bawbee was equivalent to a happny which you would know as a half penny, it was of very low value that where the saying of, I wouldn't give you a bawbee for it comes from, and that saying is still used quite regularly, but you are right I would keep a tight grip of it if I had one

They did have new soles fitted Snoop, that was the second set that I was referring to, I used to go walking every week, it was the legs that failed you could have left the info about you footwear in just to show that women can leave us gents in the shade when it comes to footwear
