    • Afternoon all. Went out for soup and a scone at the local leisure centre. Never again. It wasn't the part cooked scone that put me off It was the noise all the little darlings were making. Don't get me wrong, I normally cope well with kids but today where we ate, there was a tiled floor, no curtains/drapes and the sound was literally bouncing off the floors and walls. Nightmare/

Earlier, I sowed some onions - Toughball - 20 in root riots and 20 in a really small tray which originally came with some plug plants. Also shelled the show pea pods I've been drying out for several weeks. Sorted these as I went into separate envelopes for peas from pods containing 12 or more, 11 and 10 . The others were discarded. I don't know if anyone has ever tried sowing peas from pods containing 9 or less to see if they produce better than the original. I have plenty of the higher numbers so I'm not going to bother but one does wonder.

It's hissing down rain out and I've had an explore through my seed box. Ooooooer, I've discovered I bought some seeds online in the middle of the night recently and I'd already bought the same seeds.

        • Very wet here today. I've just had my flu jab, oww, but worth it. I'm already fed up with the short, dark days. I only seem to have time to do outside work when it's too dark to do anything.

          • Good evening, again a dull damp day, and now turned to rain, and when I sat down to,write this I noticed some deer in the field behind my daughter's house this is the third time this week so they must be coming up this way to feed, and thanks for the good wishes for my OH, now that she is on antibiotics she is beginning to pick up , and she has kindly passed on her coughs and sneezing to me, I am sitting here with a runny nose and sore throat, I think it will be a hot toddy for me tonight before bed, if wasn't for that I would hate being ill
That's us half way through the week so not long till the weekend, so keep warm and well

                      • Mornin n'alln'all

Bit late up this morning....but wow....it's lovely and sunny and the remaining leaves on the cherry tree are glowing deep orange and red in the sunlight. Lovely!

We managed to finish constructing the IKEA kitchen units yesterday...2of us, 2days!
At least they are now stored out of the way and ready to drop into place once the builder , plumber and electrician have done their bits.
Very satisfying to help out a friend.( Tis the least I could do as she supports my seed swap twice a year!)

So now I can go back to my sewing, gardening , preserving and domestics.

                        Best get a wiggle on!

See ya later..keep healthy peeps x

                        • Morning all, sorry you and your OH are not feeling too hot rary...it's horrible this cold thing going around. My OH and I have both had it, not nice. Keep taking the toddies!

It's sunny at the moment but looks as though it's going to be showery today.

Our neighbours who feed the birds all year round have decided to go on a long holiday and the bird feeders are empty so I bought a large feeder and all the food that goes with it. Nothing, not one bird on the blooming thing. OH said, don't worry the minute they find it... well they have found it and there are hundreds of the little blighters trying to get a feed Think it's going to cost me a fortune

Hope you all have a fab day.

                          • Oh forgot to say, credit where credit is due. People are always moaning and complaining about the NHS, I have done it myself on here but yesterday I took my mum for a hospital appointment. The doctor came to collect us herself and when told my mum was hard of hearing spoke to her in a way she could understood all that was being said. She was very caring and interested in everything my mum had to say...even the nonsense! It was just a lovely experience all round...well done to her! Restores my faith somewhat!

                              • You'll get plenty of pleasure out of watching those birds, Jay22. Well worth it!

Better stop eating this bag of pretzels and get back to work!

                                Have a great afternoon, everyone.
