I was at my Mum's and she doesn't have a hair dryer. Don't think curling tongs would have the same effect.

Looks like it's my turn for the sou'ester and flippers today then
At least if it's raining it's not frosty eh?
Bones....How did you sleep last night ? Hope the bed is more comfy!
Good job done there VC....I did the same for my mom last year, and took the opportunity of chucking out some exceptionally out of date food (5yrs out of date prawns etc...)
Need to bake a cake today for book club we're hosting here tomorrow, then more sewing today I suppose. Hmmm...I think there may be some tidying up involved at some point today too!
Right...kettle's on...fresh fruit salad and yog for breakfast for me...help yrselves if you fancy some!
See ya later peeps....Last edited by Nicos; 12-11-2018, 06:11 AM."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Morning all. The new bed's really comfortable, it was noticeably easier to move about when I first got up this morning. Spent half of yesterday stripping apart the old bed for recycling, wood for the lotty, springs for the scrap man, bolts and washers for me.
Bet we have to go and buy more new bedding now.
Enjoy your dayLocation ... Nottingham

I've had a fun day visiting my Mum. Only popped in for a chat before the carers arrived - wasn't expecting the kitchen floor to be wet. Turned out the upright freezer door was slightly open because there was a small iceberg inside, stopping the top drawer from sliding in properly, which meant the door was slightly open. (Did I just say that?)
I emptied the freezer, all the food was still frozen fortunately and set about defrosting it using the only implement I could find - a plastic scoop - it was a long job.
Neither of the plastic washing up bowls would fit between the freezer shelves because there was too much ice so I couldn't put bowls of hot water inside. By the time I'd finished, I was soaking wet and my knuckles were raw from scraping along the iced up shelves.
The carers came - and went - and I was still grovelling around in the puddles.
Eventually, I went back into Mum and she said" Hello, have you been out shopping?"
Never mind, I eventually made it to Morris before they closed and bought 9 packs of Bounty and Mars bars for 30p each, reduced from £1.50. That cheered me up and since I don't believe in dieting. I think I'll have one now.
Hope you're having a super evening - do you realise its Monday tomorrow!!My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

Try it and see, Snadge.
I might cut one open and gauge by the flesh colour whether its edible or not? I have seen people eating green squashes so maybe these will never turn yellow. My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order

Cloudy but dry today, my daughter dropped off her dog this morning so was out for a walk with her then returned her home and picked up my sons dog and took her for a walk, as there was a cheque to go into the bank we were ready to head out when our oldest grandson sent a text saying he had lost his lunch money so what should have been a 7 mile journey turned out to be a 13 mile one, then had to stand in a Que for ten minutes and banks say there is no one using the counter service now back home and taking it easy till time to pick up the boy's, and then it's out to the football practice, enjoy the rest of the day and try not to be as grumpy ad I feel todayit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

Afternoon all, sitting here with freezing feet and it's not that cold out. My blood must be thining.
My car is in the garage getting a new zenon bulb fitted. I'm told mega expensive but I'm trying not to think about that. Also getting exhaust system looked at. Had a repair done by Kwik-fit at the end of August and it seems it was botched. Had hoped to get car back today but not looking likely.
I'm trying not to be grumpy. One grumpy guts a day on the forum is enough.
