G'morning all. Got back from the holiday from hell late on Sunday. The saving grace was the weather in Cyprus. Comfortably warm with magnificent thunderstorms on several nights and one day.

The garden looks ready to be dug over for the winter and I might be able to erect my polytunnel at long last.

I have 2 books on short term lone, just one week, and they are looking for them to be returned.

Very cold and frosty nights but amazingly warm days. Spotted a few dragonflies today while sorting out firewood. How do they survive the nights? I don't think I'd do very well overnight outside!

Not much other news. Getting through the work, getting through the bills, dog back to the vet's again tomorrow (they're going to try stitching the skin to draw it over the patch left after the removal of the tumour - goodness only knows how, there's virtually no skin there, sorry if that's too much information, I'm just flabbergasted at the idea they're going to do it).

Had a tremendous supper last night. Anyone interested in a Middle Eastern recipe book and is an omnivore (lots of meat recipes, I'm afraid), Khazana get's my thumbs up. Best meal I've had all year (and more) came from the book (honey and cardomom quail with spiced figs). Took all of about four minutes to prepare seeing as I didn't bother with the bulgur accompaniment. Right, that's enough raving about that.

Sorry for not dropping in more. Still have my ad blocker blocked. Will probably try and download it again. All the ads on here are a bit boggling!

Looking after my grandson for the first time this morning, he is 5 months old now.
