  • Very late good night or very early good morning.
Just home from the party with our friends.
Lots of chat, gift exchange a lovely meal and then a sing song.
One of our friends plays guitar so we always end the night with songs associated with Christmas,
My two friends are girls who started school with me, so a lifelong friendship.
    We had a wonderful evening.

Now that we are all retired it's even better

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

*tiptoes around the kitchen trying not to disturb those of you with hang-overs

We had a really windy night. The internet was down, power cuts...looks like it's all sorted now though. And as I say that the sun has peeked out from behind the clouds!

We're off out to sell our car in a mo. Driving 60 odd miles meeting the guy half way.
Might manage to find somewhere to have lunch on the way back...maybe.

It was lovely going downstairs this morning and seeing all the decorations. I love the final run up to Xmas!

See ya later peeps. Enjoy your day.

            • Mornings,
The very last coat of varnish for the table, in a bit, then clean up, so the decs can go up later.

My tree will be the same as normal, cos it's the same tree
I bought a better class of artificial tree (but not one of those very expensive ones ) a few years ago, it even has pine cones, and it was worth the extra, I think.
Must go out and cut some holly and pine branches, I bought some red dishes, a job lot of battery candles, spare batteries and ribbons, so it all should all look good this year

              Busy busy, have a good'un

              • Morning all. The sun has just peeked out now and washing machine is on.
Chinese Elvis was as bad as expected, meal was nice though. It was lovely for all the volunteers who could afford the £43 ticket to go.
Plenty of vino was drunk as well, hence latish post from me.
Going to attempt to write my Christmas cards today and wrap a few more presents. I never know when to stop lol
                Have a lovely day folks

                • The wind is up. And due to get windier later on. The sky is bright, bright blue. A nice sight through the window, but perishing to be out in it. Am off to see if I can pick some quince and to check for wild mushrooms.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.

                  • Good morning all.
Sun is shining but it's just 7 degrees.
Off to mass shortly and then having my granddaughter for an overnight sleep.
Means I will be up at 7.15 in the morning to get her off to school.
Hopefully putting up the tree and decorations today.
Have a good one whatever your doing.

                    • Good morning. I don't do anything about Christmas until after the last family birthday of the year which is today. I haven't yet bought his present or card but as the pressy is always a good malt scotch, that won't take long. The card is always a problem as I leave it to the last minute and most the birthday cards have had to make way for Xmas cards. It doesn't matter what time of the year it is but it's hard to find an appropriate card for a grown up son.

Weather seems to have cheered up so I might get a chance to fix the gate latch and the shed door both of which had been left open (not by me) and got a bit battered in last nights wind.

                      Laters.

                      • Finished my wood storage shed and toshed a bit of paint on it to blend it n with my shed.

Quite pleased with the finished result which was built from scrap wood and no financial outlay.

Now all I need is the firewood to go in it.

Good day for me. Car sold

Seems strange -both the Disco and the Golf missing from the front of our house, all within 2 weeks!

Quiet evening in front of the fire for us methinks.
Best think about preparing some nosh as my tummy has started rumbling.

                              Glass of wine anyone?
Didn't get a chance to cut holly and snoggy stuff today, so that's a 'tomorrow job'
