  • Good evening all.
    Busy day here.
Myself and granddaughter decided to put up the tree and decorate the house.
    Took us the whole afternoon.
    Hubby did the outside lights.
Now settling down for the evening.
It's now officially Christmas in our house.
    Have a good evening all.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

    • Good evening, it was actually a dry day today , but unable to get into the garden as we had visitors, and once they were away it was too near teatime to go out to do anything, and yes they were asked if they wanted to wait for tea (I think the price at the bottom of the menu put them off) I actually pulled some veg from the garden and had roast vegetables with my steak, and added some chopped up rocket leaves towards the end of roasting them, which was handy as it used some of it up, after tea I went out to the greenhouse for a time and the temperature in the greenhouse was 1c. and felt really cold, but when I was ready to go back in the house the temp. was at 9c. I am just thinking i must be a bit of a hot thing though possibly the fire I put on could have something to do with that I will ask OH latter, no better not she's not too happy with me today, she had a washing on and was waiting for it to stop so that she could get it hung up before we went out to church and I had moved the controller to the off position before it had clicked finished, and she had to put it through a cycle again, and we hadn't time to,wait for it to finish, she was moaning at me about wasting time and I just happen to say "but you could move on the last machine" wrong thing to say, we renewed the machine six years ago, I then got the spiel about who does all the work around here, I pointed out that I make the porridge in the morning the reply "it's you that wants the porridge, toast would do me" so at that I decided to let it go and wait till I am on more solid ground. Just had a look outside and it is frosty, so if that's what you have in the morning, take care and wrap up warm. Goodnight

      • Good morning all,
Just this once I am up at crazy o'clock to take my granddaughter to school.
So...I am taking the black tights, the black boots the scarf and the gloves because it is so cold.
You're right,,,,first up is best dressed,
Having said that I would rather be last up and take what's left.
        Have a good day all.

          • Mornin n'alln'all

            Late start for me
*gazes at bundle of choice of left-over clothes (selects crampons to cope with the thick layer of frost outside)
            * then wonders how I'll be able to drive in them

Nice idea for the carpet Bren. We were given a large old rug which we put on the concrete barn floor and it's so much nicer to walk on in winter!

Nothing major planned for me today, just lots of little jobs needing sorting off the tick list before we host the book club Xmas bash here tomorrow.

            Have a great day peeps!

Lottie, why don't you cut it up so that you can put it into your waste bin, would save you trying to get it to the dump.

                        • Good evening, it has been a cold damp day today, decided to get some new tyres on the car, so that's me skint think I will need to get a hold of grandsons guitar and do some busking, though doubts if I would get any money also went to the opticians to see if they could sort my glasses as the glass is coming away from the frame, they were unable to do anything with them, but I could get an eye test and pick new ones if I need them, or they could get new frames and fit the lenses in to them, I don't understand how they could give me new frames and fit the glass to them yet they can't fix the frames I have, I will need to try and work this out
Enjoy your evening and keep warm

                            • It's going to be a cold one tonight: frost already. For once, I might be glad of cats wanting a cuddle in bed.

                              Have a nice evening, everyone.

                              • Frost hasn't lifted here all day. Our resident blackbirds have been looking for food all day but they have been having to compete with robbing starlings. Well I suppose they need to eat as well so I just threw out some more suet pellets.

Funny things blackbirds. Looking out from the house, they hop right up to the greenhouse door where the suet pellets are stored and look expectantly . So cute
