    • We have gales and snow on the way possibly, might just cancel the planned fishing trip until tomorrow and sit by the fire with my "Out of Town" dvd instead, like a bit of Jack Hargreaves, even if it was mostly fantasy.

Bit of sleet in the wind but nothing much, I shall be braving the elements over the plots today.

            • Mornin n'alln'all

Was -5C at 5 am and is now raining.
The ground is now like an ice rink. Thank goodness I don't need to drive anywhere.
Do take care on the roads and pavements peeps.

Not wuite sure what today will bring but I do still have a long list of things which need doing.

Perfect day for a local pub lunch somewhere with an open fire.
Pity we don't have pubs here. Tis one thing I really miss.

First things first though....brunch. Bacon butty -on fresh soda bread! ( yup, we defrosted once of our precious packets!)
              The house is smelling yummmmy!

See ya later peeps. Keep warm, dry and safe.

                • Good morning all.
                  What a wicked day.
Driving rain and gale force wind with snow orange warning in place.
All the house lights on it's so dark.
Looks like an indoor day today.
Hubby just lit the woodburner so maybe a lazy day with the newspapers.
Have a good day all and stay safe.l

                  • Morning all. Cold greenhouse sitting just above freezing but we've had no precipitation at all so far so fingers crossed it will pass us by. I've thrown out some extra bird food as they need all they can get during a cold spell.

We're heading in to the City shortly to meet up with her ladyship's brother and his wife to exchange Cards and presents shortly. At least it will be warm in the car

                    • Afternoon, everyone. Mr Snoop is currently sawing up what I call 'thick sticks' for firewood, while I'm sitting here thinking it's time to light the range. Better do a nice lunch by way of thanks for his efforts.

Otherwise, not much to report. Hope you all have a lovely weekend. Above all, stay warm, dry and safe. Weather conditions sound grim in the UK.

                      • Coldest day of the year so far so what happens...………car won't start! Battery flat. I knew its struggled to start for the last couple of weeks but this minus 2 degrees has finally done for it.

The good news is that I managed to get my Son in Law to take me to get a battery and I managed to fit it without having to get my radio re-coded.. That's me indoors sitting in front of the log burner for the rest of the day

                          • Evening everyone, what a rotten day.
                            Freezing cold, non stop rain.
At least I was nice and warm at work. Had lots of customers surprisingly, considering the weather.
Drew our Christmas raffle today, lady in the shop at the time won a prize. She was so pleased.
Now sitting watching the dancing. Happy days

                            • You can keep it NS, just don't like it, too much crowed no is for my liking
It has been a very cold wet day today, we went out for lunch but with the roads so busy and it being so cold decided to head back home so spent the afternoon watching a film though I did inspect the inside of my eyelids for most of it I also went out to tidy up all the cardboard but it was just too cold and too wet to get much done, so now in and just about to go on to tube looking for recipes for mixing the soil for making soil blockes, considering adding some plain wallpaper paste to the mix, i.e. no antifungal types might not make any difference but won't know till I try it, if it the rain goes off by tomorrow I will go and collect some mole hills to add to the mix. Well I think I will go and have a glass of dark red, I discovered it in a cupboard the other day and as I have a new bottle for Hogmanay I will drink this now, its hard to beat, a glass of ginger wine with a wee bit of shortbreado enjoy your evening keep warm and chill out. Goodnight

                              • Good night all.
We have had the most miserable day.
Storm Deirdre hammered us all day with wind and rain.
However...spent tonight watching the final of strictly come dancing.
                                What a wonderful finale.
We will miss it but our own show...dancing with the stars will be starting the first week in January,
Same type of programme but Irish participants.
