  • Morning all, dull and a tad cold here.
Sat here with a shopping list and trying to decide when to actually buy the stuff on it.
I’m not stressing, as I know perfectly well that’s it’s just another big Sunday roast.
This is the first Christmas in 15 years that we will have guests, the turkey will be cooked here and be served here.
Anyway, enough wittering, have a great day everyone, shopping or not

    • Wowee, that was a cold night. Dogs want walking, but I'm going to wait for another half an hour till the sun starts to do its job.

After that, desperate bid to finish work and write my last bills before everyone goes off on holidays till next year. After which, I'm pretty much a free woman till next year too. Just bits and bobs of work.

I've already promised myself I'm going to get my seed box out this weekend. Haven't looked in there since probably March last year. Hope it's not all mouldy or full of insects...

Anybody got any views on whether my carrot seeds will still be good? I bought them in the spring... Hope they are. I went to town a bit and have loads of different varieties. I love carrots, me.

Anyway, hope you all have a lovely day.

      • Mornings

I'm on my second cuppa, and beef stew already in the slow cooker to take care of itself, cos I need to crack on and finish the holiday baking today.
First a double batch of sweet almond pastry for the Frangipane mince pies...

        Have a good'un!

        • Good morning all.
Grocery shopping today but at least hubby will be driving.
After lunch I will visit the two cemeteries to decorate them for Christmas.
Hopefully the rain will hold off.
Have a good day all and take care out there.
All you can see are stressed drivers looking frazzled.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.

          • Good evening, it was quite much of today with an occasional gust of cold wind, went shopping this morning, and it is bedlam in the shops, fortunately we don't need a great deal other than milk, bread and other odds and ends as we have everything required for Christmas meals, but the roads are a nightmare everyone rushing and no time to be courteous, where is our manners nowadays

            • Thought I had better stop t the last one before it became a rant
Was out in the greenhouse this evening and as it felt a bit cool I put on the fire, and in no time it was up at 20c, maybe when OH threatens to put my bed out there it wouldn't be too bad I really need to clean the greenhouse out, I should just bin everything, perhaps I should get OH to clean it out, no that wouldn't work she would throw everything out and there could be stuff I want
Well take care over the weekend, try not to get too stressed, if it gets too much get a gardening book out and plan your year ahead, me I think I will go and see if I can sow some seeds

              • Mornings,
Mollycat decided I needed to get up at 7 and jumped on my head grrrr!

Oh well, I'm on my 2nd cuppa and wondering what to do first from the list
Do we really need to buy/bake/do all these last minute things, it seems to be getting a bit mad nowadays, or is it just me

                Have a good'un whatever you're up to

                • Morning, bright start here. No rain forecast here
Still got the shopping list, still don’t fancy braving the supermarket.
I’m actually thinking of sending hubby. That would mean no goodies though. He only buys what’s on the list, unless he sees something I’ve forgotten. That would not include goodies of course.
Work this afternoon which I am looking forward to.
                  Have a lovely day folks

                    • Twelfth Night is the big event here (the Kings bring gifts, not Father Christmas), so 25 Dec is a public holiday with minor presents, but not so much of a big deal as 6 January. And then, because 6 January isn't a traditional day for us, we don't make a big deal of it. Nice meal each day and Bob's your uncle. Another vet visit on Monday morning, so I'll take the opportunity to do a bit of shopping (salmon for 25 December I've decided, in a Middle Eastern/Moghul style to make it a bit special). Me, I'm all for a peaceful life!

Right, that's way too far in the future. Today brings blue skies (at least for now), a bit of work this morning, lunch out at a friend's and probably a late afternoon early evening nap. Perfect. Oh and garden planning. Need to get Mr Snoop to sit down and think about the irrigation with me.

                      Have a lovely day, guys.

                      • Good morning all.
It's a lovely bright clear morning g here.
Off out to play pitch and putt, the last game of the year.
Grocery shopping done so no need to hit the shops today.
Whatever your doing have a good day and don't let the madness get you down.
This time next week it will just be a memory,

                          • Good evening all.
Had a lovely day playing pitch and put and won a bottle of Baileys.
                            The weather was perfect.
The drive there and back was pretty horrendous with traffic bumper to bumper.
Hoping I am now finished driving this side of the festive season.
                            Have a good evening all.

                            • Evening everyone, had a nice afternoon at work and then proceeded to do the dreaded food shopping
It was a doddle, got a cashier straight away, no queuing either
Haven’t overspent, as it is only one day. But bought a few extra goodies for us to eat today and tomorrow
Bought a nice china long plate thingy to put the condiments on. Guess where I left it?
                              Arghhhh
Never mind, have a lovely evening

                              • Good evening, some heavy rain this morning but still managed to go out, went to a GC for a bite to eat, though the roads were busy the places I visited were quiet the GC was quiet also went for some screws then to buy bird feeding, I think everyone was food buying today which we didn't need to do so finished up a relaxing day out now just taking it easy with a wee whisky, and I don't do that very often (have you seen the price of whisky) though I might need to do it oftener just incase my collection goes off Enjoy your weekend and stay warm and sober Goodnight
