  • Mornin n'alln'all

Woke up to loads of sploshy stuff outside, but it's stopped now.
Just need to deliver a couple of pressies and tidy the kitchen then I think we are ready!

Not had a chance to try and recover the bookmark yet as OH has been around all the time...think I have a 20 minute window for one last try.
If you hear lots of banging and cussing, just ignore it...that'll be me

Hoping to hunker down later !

    • Morning all, up early with indigestion. Don’t know whether to blame the copious amounts chocolate tree decs or the evening mince pie
      My moneys on both
Anyway, drinking fizzy pop, that will sort it out.
Work this morning, must find a job for hubby in case he gets bored - only joking.
Turkey should turn up some time today. Son in law to be is collecting it from his butcher friend, so why do I feel uneasy
Edit, it’s just turned up. I take it all back!
Come in a nice posh box and is now residing in the fridge outside
Must get a wriggle on, time for work soon
Have a great Christmas Eve folks

      • Cold, cold, cold. But Christmas Eve, so the fire will be going 24 hours from now till whenever I start to get worried about the wood supply. Our man was due to bring more, but has got sidetracked by a permanent job. He's not enjoying it. Much as his wife won't like him giving it up, I have to admit I'm quite looking forward to him going back to general farm labouring and firewood supply work.

Work for me today. Mr Snoop taking dog to the vet's again. Looks like it could be a few more weeks yet.

Frost steaming off the trees and grass at the moment. Saw a couple of wasps struggling to get going yesterday but there are clearly more elsewhere, as we got badly buzzed yesterday. Butterflies out and about too. (And honeybees. Fortunately for them, we have heather just breaking into flower.) If all these insects are waking up early for spring, there will be a dearth when spring really hits.

Right, better get on with that work. Hope you all have a lovely day.

        • Mornings,
Typical, isn't it, that Mollycat allows me a lie in on the day I could do with an early start
The gammon is soaking and heading for the slow-cooker, and I've last minute cards to deliver...
Kettle is on for the 2nd cuppa then I must make a start...
          Have a good'un

                • Good morning all.
                  It's a mild morning, a balmy 7deg.
All set for the big day as I worked like a trojan yesterday to get everything done.
Some of my family will arrive for lunch this afternoon and then we will go to the 6.30 mass where we will meet up with the rest of them. This has been a family tradition over the years. Then the festivities can begin.
Have a good day whatever you are doing.
Good luck with the laminator Nicos.

And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                  • Update...
Rescued the now rather concertinered bookmark
After a bit of ironing between t-towels it still looks crumpled , but hey....I did rescue it!

The Laminator however is now in about 60 pieces....very snapped and twisted so it's a bin job

                    A rather expensive bookmark eh

                    Lets hope he likes it!

                    • I couldn’t start shopping until Friday as I was a little cash short. I’ve finally finished today (if i’ve missed anyone or thing it’s too late now). Weather wise it’s a lovely day. I treated myself to a glass of wine on my way home. I’ve bought several items I would love for myself garden wise, but I’m sure the recipients will love them too.

I love giving presents that people actually want and listen to what they say during the year. Sorry I’m slightly tiddly. Wrapping time.

                            • Fortunately most of my family live within a 10 mile radius of me, so I do the rounds on Christmas morning and distribute pressies. Tonight 2 of those have changed. My youngest (who I fell out with) can't find anywhere to meet me on Christmas morning. His older brother has just rung me and his OH is in intensive care with pneumonia. The fact that I haven't wrapped any presents yet pales into insignificance.

                              • It's very quiet. I live on what used to be the main road between Bristol to London, but was bypassed in 1975. It is still a busy road. There is normally a lot of traffic until about midnight and then starts again around 6.30 in the morning. I've counted about 2 cars in the last hour.
