p.s its getting a bit embarrassing as I bee line to anyone with a dog to make a fuss of them after asking if its OK.

Gruff sends you big doggy lerve.... and I couldn't have a dog for years despite really wanting one.... you never know what the future holds, I wish you all best towards what you want....

Would it possibly help to volunteer at your local shelter? Ours in North Wales is always looking for volunteers of all sorts, including walkers

Ours in North Wales is always looking for volunteers of all sorts, including walkers The local orphanage is not allowed to keep pets - seems draconian, but they'll have their reasons - but the kids often visit to spend time with the animals which helps them no end.
