Ant powder has warnings to keep away from pets,it’s unsafe if they get it on them & lick it off. Black pepper does work I used it years ago out the front near my mat (now I’ve got my own cat,he stands guard other cats don’t come here like they used to) garlic smells strong but doesn’t make you sneeze a hundred times, garlic I can’t see how that would work at all.

At last house old solved my garden cat problem by boiling then grinding up citrus peels in the blender, (some dried out some fresh) and throwing it around the perimeter of the garden.
(we eat loads of citrus.)
Also I cut can tops into a swirly spike and stick in soil
In new house I tossed dried sticks over the poo area, larger arched ones so cats butt can't contact the ground never did it's thing again.
Not sure as it's the front door but maybe ideas on here can be modified somehow?

I still think it's a fox!
They like to poo on top of stones etc.
Cats like to attempt to cover their poop so tend to go on soft surfaces...
I may be wrong...but you really need to think 'outside the box' Marb"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Fresh cat poo on top of the frozen soil in my plot today so that kind of poo poos the theory that they only do their stuff on soft ground. I'm not going to get upset with the hairy beasty at this time of year though as we have a probem with mice just now, my plot neighbour had 4 in his traps today and I had two. Any wiliing recruit who is likely to help thin the mice out is most welcomeLast edited by Aberdeenplotter; 06-02-2019, 09:45 PM.

I can absolutely tell that it is a cat 100% because we have caught it a couple of times squatting before we shooed it away. Other cats have also been seen on it also.
Ant powder it is then but will sprinkle under the mat so the animal doesn't get any on it's paws. As much as it is a pain in the backside, I love cats and wouldn't want to harm any animal.
