Just wondered what others on here collect. I have several Lladro geese and ballerina figurines, Beswick and Goebel birds, antique items such as furniture, old horse brasses, pottery, walking sticks, and any old curios that I find interesting.

I'm a bit boring: kitchen equipment and cookery books. And seeds, naturally.
Everything else is collected by Mr Snoop and there's far too much of it.Last edited by Snoop Puss; 30-07-2018, 05:18 PM.

I have the heads of 72 demons - some of them nailed to my walls, some of them in bags in the loft.
Of course they say they're not demons but I know better.
I collect South Asian (Sri Lankan, Indian and Himalayan) masks. Mostly Sri Lankan and Himalayan. Sri Lankan include
RAKSHA masks (e.g. Naga Raksha - Cobra, Gurulu Raksha - Eagle, Gini Raksha - Fire)
Tovil manks - used in exorcism to drive out illness e.g. Maha Kola Mask (19 demons in one, some of them change depending on where they come from and can include "Bad Neighbours" - aka The Tamil Tigers),
Kolam Masks (dramatic dance mask, e.g. The Soldier, The King, Englishman, The Bakers Wife)
Indian Masks include characters from the Ramayana (Rama, Sita, Hanuman) - papier mache masks usually destroyed at the end of the festivals.
Himalayan masks include Lama/Holyman, Citipati (not the dinosaur), Stack of skulls (9 skulls in one mask), various Mahakala style masks, Elephants, Boars.

I have a stash of Queen picture discs in bubble wrap but don't collect them any more.sigpic“Gorillas are very intelligent, but they don't have to be as delicate as chimps -- they can just smash open the termite nest,”

I have a large collection of thimbles, all in display boxes.
It started out as a fun thing to collect while on holiday.
Now every member of the family who travel bring them back to me.
An inexpensive hobby and a reminder of all the places we have been.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

At one time I used to collect skulls, which probably sounds a bit suspect already!
Mostly ones that I'd come across on rambles or treks to wherever, provided they were intact, and already just bone, nothing lurking. Quick clean, followed by a soak in hydrogen peroxide solution, and they'd achieve a nice uniform whiteness. I found them quite interesting for a time (and still do) but admittedly it's not always a great first impression for visitors(!) so they went from a display case, to the bedroom, then the spare room, the shed.. and finally under much duress back to the woods!
I like stone too, so these days my thing is to buy little stone animal carvings, not so much gift shop fodder, more what's available at the side of the road of wherever I happen to be. It's a fairly new collection - acquired the first one about 6 years ago - but so far I have several elephant, a lion, turtle, frog, a horse head.. in verdite, malachite, serpentine, quartz, jade.. Nothing huge, biggest piece fits on a coaster. Nice to look at, and appreciate the craftsmanship that went into creating them
