Bullet Journal for Garden log?

I set up a bullet journal for work purposes. I didn't like keep having to write down a job that never got done! It was a good incentive. I didn't buy a special book, any notebook will do. I have to say it worked very well and I should probably restart it. Kept me up-to-date with clients, but the job I kept having to write repeatedly was billing, the whole point of doing the work in the first place.

I might give it a go for gardening (a separate journal), but I still think I'd need an overall plan giving me broad target dates and bed info. Mind you, no reason why that couldn't form part of your opening pages. I'm not very good at being specific with my veg patch. Too many other things to do that sometimes get in the way, and the weather doesn't always help either.

Try it and see. If you run out of steam in February or so, you'll be in good company by the look of it!

It's getting serious, I have actually bought a diary specifically for the garden this year. All I need to do now is remember to fill it in from time to time.
Considering the amount of computer data I fumble with on a daily basis, you'd think I'd have a swish database with all this on, and you'd be wrong.

Both! I have started to draft up a plan for my journal (you can tailor them to your use & preferences). So after the index pages, I want a monthly Garden Plan (the Forecast, it is called) - an overview of what should happen each month of the year; and then a log by month, and one by day. These are where you list plans, to dos, events, outcomes, etc. Then I am going to add in some "collections": lists of plants and seeds, diseases/pests and how we've coped, sketches of each year's layout...

Yeah, I am making a meal of this (it is planning season! ). But if you are curious, I can post some info I found.

I've been using a spreadsheet for planning but fall behind by beginning of Jun. I can see the benefit of a Organiser type book. With planner check list at front, loose leaf pages for sketching and a diary

It is just an extract of the Garden Focus Planner with added Cols for Date (setup so I can change top line for 1st Monday in year) Date task completed and any notes - similar to Cadalot

I use a blog and am am careful to always add labels; that way a search of the label will find all posts with that term...

Mothhawk that reminds me I've got the 'RHS allotment journal' its a good read but far to pretty to write in.

I still have the SR Diary from 2011. We'd had a heavy frost on 7th Nov and I took the dog to the Vets on 9th. I liked the spiral wire binding so it stayed flat and there were some useful fold-out pages at the back telling you what to sow when.
I already have an RHS Diary for next year but the SR one has more space to write in each day.............. thinking..........
