Five litres isn't very big for canning purposes. Americans use canners of at least ten litres. The problem with smaller ones is that they heat up very quickly and cool down quickly too, so the standard recipes for veg used in the States wouldn't be safe.

My ancient Good Housekeeping recipe book has timings for fruit in smaller pressure cookers, but says bottling veg can't be done.

Plus, my understanding is that even though manufacturers say electric pressure cookers can be used for canning, canning experts say they can't. I found this:

"The National Center for Home Food Preservation (NCHFP), an offshoot of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), posted an announcement today warning consumers against using digital multi-cookers for pressure canning – even if they are advertised as being able to do so.
    Specifically, they said..
Even if there are referrals to the National Center for HFP in the instructions for canning in the manufacturer’s directions, we do not currently support the use of the USDA canning processes in electric, multi-cooker appliances."

Sorry to pour cold water on your bottling plans. Just want you to stay safe and healthy. That said, these kinds of pressure cookers are brilliant for ordinary cooking.

I love my pressure cookers. Hope you have lots of fun with it. The website I linked to has loads of recipes for pressure cookers, plus advice on using electric ones. I learned a lot off her site.

            Brilliant. What a great son.

We had chicken stew today for lunch, done in the pressure cooker, maybe 30 minutes from thinking about it to food on the plate. Ten minutes or so preparation (partly because I don't have an electric one so I speed matters up by browning chicken in a frying pan while sweating onions in the pressure cooker), ten minutes cooking (a few minutes coming up to pressure, seven minutes cooking at pressure), ten minutes for pressure to drop slowly. And enough left over for another day to boot.
