Hey, let's look at it this way. Seeds are still substantially cheaper than lastest fashion clothes, wines, cigarettes, takeaways, latest electronic gadgets etc or even bus or train fare! Seeds addiction can't possibly bankrupt us, can't it? Don't feel guilty, just go with the flow .

Thanks for the recommendation Manda. I recently got an Amazon refund on a bit of a duff book, so I've just ordered '100...' without actually having to spend anything (kind of!).
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom

Got my copy today and I love it! Suspect it may eventually cost me more than the £2.50 I paid for it though Oaxacan Green Dent Corn and Negresse Potatoes, anyone?

Lol!!! Its good isn't it. The really annoying thing is he's written other similarly fascinating books ('Heirloom vegetable gardening' and 'the bean bible' but nearly all are out of print!

I've only got to 'A' and I want some sweet, smokey aji dulce!!!

Oh and at the other end I shall be getting the purple artichokes 'violetto de chiogga' from Dave's!

Crikey! I've just checked those two out on Amazon. £231 for the Bean Book!!!

You never know though, I got an amazing deal on an OOP knitting book from Amazon Marketplace. It's normally listed at £100+ but I found one of those places that buys ex libris by the truckload selling it for 33p! I've never got through an online checkout so fast in my life!

I'm sure I ordered some purple artichokes recently - will check if they were 'violetto de chiogga'. I'm sure a few might find their way into the envelope with the squash if they are!
