  • fabbo yogurt maker

Just wanted to share with you all how great home-made yogurt is, it's just so yummy and gorgeous.
I bought my yogurt maker 3 years age from lakeland, it's my best kitchen gadget ever, I use it at least twice a week, it makes a litre of creamy yogurt for less than 60p and you know exactly whats in it, you can eat it as it is or flavour it with whatever you like.
Thats it really, just wanted to share!

hmmm... there's space in our tiny kitchen for at least one thing for me to play with (there's not actually, but won't be put off by a mere detail) - did you get the electric one or the hot watery one? Also, what's in those sachets? I would love to make Greek yoghurt but would like to know what the powder is and it doesn't really explain in much detail.

    Thanks for the tip!!!

I lost mine years ago, it was an electric one, and i LOVED the thing, I used to use powdered skimmed milk, so that the yoghurt was nearly solid, yummy, sprinkled with demerara or drizzle of honey.

mines electric, you just put in a dollop of the previous batch and a litre of UHT milk (or soya/rice or whatever your preference) and like bride i add skimmed milk powder coz it makes it nice and thick- almost like greek although I think for greek your supposed to strain it through a muslin.
I can't recommend it enough, loads of my friends and family have bought machines after trying my yogurt, its totally gorge!!

I've just got some homegrown Blueberries out of the freezer to have with pancakes for my breakfast tomorrow. Wellie does know how to spoil herself! and this thread caught my eye. I'm interested in making yoghurt. How gorgeous would it be to chuck your own fruit in your own homemade yoggy? Cool! How much are yoggy makers these days? and who do I know that'll buy me one for my birthday?!

you can get them cheaper than this, but this is very similar to the one i used to have, and for ease of use it was brilliant, makes 7 pots one for each day.

I also used to save baby food jars which fit in just nice so I could make extras.

The one I've just seen is only £4.99!? Can that be right? That's almost cheaper than one big pot of the organic Greek yoghurt I usually buy!

The fruit thing - it would be a good way of the using the 40,000 pots of damson compote we're currently slogging our way through!
