    Or this, at £15:
"The BioBulb® is a full spectrum daylight bulb that uses 75% less energy than a standard light bulb.
The BioBulb® 100w (using 25w) bulb issues a massive 1750 lumens (a lumen is a way of measuring natural light, and a standard 60w bulb only manages 600 lumens, so that's over three times as much) and closely replicates sunlight, which may improve mood, nighttime sleep and daytime energy.
Anyone prone to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) or who simply longs for summer may find that its flicker-free white light helps to restore their natural equilibrium. They are ideal for reading and most pleasing to the eye. Our BioBulb® also radiates less heat than a standard bulb and lasts around 10,000 hours. Length 100w 13.5cm, 60w 12.5cm. Colour rendering index of 85. Available in Bayonet and Screw fittings." Ecozone

They remind me of summer...................they look like ice cream cones!

Turn the heat right up in your bathroom.
Run a warm bath and scent it with your favourite summer perfume,
Pour in a cup of sand and swirl it round for that all important gritty bum sensation,
Don your cossie and rub on a bit of sun lotion......
get in, sit back, and relax while you read an embarrassingly trashy novel and have a glug of your favourite tipple.......

        instant summer

On a serious note, some of us don't store our Vit D that we produce in the summer as well as others. SAD is very often related to a Vitamin D deficiency, so taking a high dose fish oil supplement and eating soya and fortified cereals during the winter months may help relieve your symptoms

Although my dad reckons the best cure for most ills is lots of hugs,

        so hugs...

Your'e lucky, my Dads panacea for all ills was 'goose grease' applied liberally and my Mother swore by gob fulls cod liver oil!

Wonder whether either had vitamin D in em? as I never seemed to ail much as a kid.................probably from all the running I did trying to avoid the cure!

I tried jogging, but I couldn't keep the ice in my glass.

Forget splashing the cash,I know only too well people who go to work when its dark and come back when its dark in the dreary winter months.
You must have a bit of free time at the weekend? the best remedy for any form of depressive illness is exercise, now that could be anything from gardening to Golf to running a marathon but an outside related activity would be best.
Dont feel that the dark evenings are keeping you in either just because its cold ,maybe go for a walk or a jog at nightime even a trip over to a friends.
                hope this helps
