  • 20th Feb: Let's Grow Veg is out

Just a heads-up really for those that might miss it.
The next issue of Let's Grow Veg is on sale 20th Feb, with lots of "free" stuff*
    • + 10 packs veg seeds
    • + heritage potatoes
    • + blueberry bush
    • + wall planner
    • + DVD
    • + bird care pack

It does cost about £8, but if you are starting out with nothing, it might be a good deal for you.

    * free stuff means you still pay the price of P&P for send-away items

And you should be aware, in the small print it states it's available from WH Smith's and Tesco.

    Unless you subscribe.

Yes and they are tenner a time and if anyone wants to waste that on a mag you can subscibe online to the latest one and get the next two all delivered for £30. More than a years allotment rent and the price of several good books on the subject, what a rip off.

I think it's trying to be all things to all men. The result is it's never 'giving away' anything I want. Costs a lot, to my mind.

i totaly agree with you out of all 3 issues the only things i would want is the wall planner and maybe the lettuce seeds cant see how they justify the price as its so dear with "so many freebies"

I think it's too expensive with a lot of freebies I don't want.

Let's face it, "Let's Grow Veg" isn't aimed at the same market as GYO - why would the publishers bring out two magazines that competed with one another?

If I were a complete newbie and the sort of person to get overwhelmed by the amount of choice in bookshops and garden centres (there are at least six ten-foot-long racks of seed packets in our local one!), I would probably get a lot of value out of something that gave me lots of seeds and told me what to do with them.

I don't think we should be knocking the mag - just ignoring it if it doesn't meet our needs

Does anyone know what the free seeds are?
