  • Transfers / Decals?

Hi guys, we've a bit of a problem, the decals on the front of the cooker have now completely worn off, meaning that Mr D is having problems when it comes to using it! (I know where each of the knobs refers to and how to work out approx positions for temps and oven settings)

We've been looking everywhere to find some new decals to use, but nothing seems to be available, either in the shops or online! Mr D is that fed up with it he's considering buying a new cooker (and as the main oven door isnt quite fitting snugly, so its stopping stuff from rising properly when baking, then this may be the only way to sort it out), but I'm ok with using it and it doesnt bother me, plus I dont really want to spend on a new cooker!

    Anyone any ideas?
    Blessings

How about getting a sheet of that thick sticky black plastic? It's a bit like the stuff used for covering books, except it is for car/surfboard decoration. You could make replacement decals.

Don't know about the loose door though.

I like to try, might not get far, but I like to try.

Can you mark it with permanent marker?

I'm with Jay Bee. Thats what I've used to write the temp. settings on the oven and grill switches after they wore off. Berol do a fine marker (writes thin lines) and so with a little care it looks reasonably neat and tidy.
It is the doom of man, that they forget.

Regarding the oven door - mine has a threaded thing that the door closes onto. If the door is not closing just loosen the lock nut and screw the thing in a bit at a time until you get a tight fit again. Hope that helps.

ring the manufacturer and ask them for new knobs, most of them will do this for nothing, as most knobs have the same fittings or something,

and you should be able to sort the door outlike digger says.

When the numbers wore off my old cooker Mrs D my husband used one of those pens that write on anything and marked them back on. It worked fine.
