Another of those "me too" messages - I also have the Panasonic SD-something or another. Probably 5 years old now and going strong, you definitely get what you pay for, so buy the top model you can get your hands on.
Great to get out of bed to the smell of a loaf that is going to be ready in 5 minutes time!
I have a "weighing session" every couple of weeks and weigh out all the dry ingredients (except yeast) into tupperware-like containers. Usually do enough for about 10 loaves at a time. When I want to put a loaf on to bake it is much quicker than dragging out the flour, salt, sugar, etc. BTW, we've never bothered to use milk powder - can't see the point and doesn't seem to make any difference to the finished loaf.

I find that the bread tends to keep fresher for a bit longer if the milk powder is added, not sure if this is really the case but it seems it to me.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

ohhhh, new toy has arrived!!!
Have put mixture in machine..............is it really that easy.......?
Can't sit and stare at it for 4 hours...........will pop out for a while...........hide invoice first.......till OH marvels at home made bread.............. I hope

I have had a breadmaker for a few years now and love it.
If I was to offer any advise it would be use slightly less sugar that recommended as the recipes tend to be on the sweet side and try using olive oil instead of butter it is so much easier to measure and a lot less messy.
Incidentally, I stopped using milk powered in mine ages ago with no detriment to the end result.
When you get going why dont you give "peanut butter bread" a try, there are lots of recipes on the web, but when I make it I just leave out the butter/oil and add half a small jar of crunch peanut butter instead. Yummy

WOW!! Don't think I'll be buying bread again either, my 1st loaf is FANTASTIC!! Can't believe it's that easy! And the smell all over the house MMmmm
I'd tried to make bread by hand loads of times and it's always been like concrete.
Off to make shopping list for all the lovely recipes........
Only problem is, putting on weight!
