I use one of those hand held spray bottle things, its a very gentle way of watering without disturbing the seedlings or soil. It does take a bit of time (especially if you have a lot of seedlings) but its quite theraputic. They only cost about £1.50Last edited by Marthaclematis; 01-03-2009, 02:55 PM.

Yes I have one but sadly have no idea where it came from, possibly Homebase but that could be a lie. It's basically a small can with a fine rose which you can turn upside down if you want to give a really gentle spray.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I use a six pint milk bottle with pin holes in the lid, you can make all the different roses you need for it

I've got a little can which came from Dobbies - but the price was ridiculous for what it is. I've also got some of those bottle top watering roses. You can buy them just about anywhere.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

I have the Haws 1L Heritage (the plastic version, not the expensive galvanised one!). The rose dribbles a bit, but replacements are available for a couple of quid and I like the compact size!

Mine must be a few years old now - it's silver and green, which doesn't seem to be a current model.Last edited by Eyren; 03-03-2009, 09:12 PM.

I went looking for specifically a type of can for this purpose yesterday at both Wilkinsons and avery large local garden centre and was totally disappointed not to find anything that suited my needs.
Interested to hear if the bottle top devices really do the job?The cats' valet.
