I still use Hessayon all the time - it's falling apart!
Got a new book last week though which i think will end up in the same condition! It's 'Veg Patch' River Cottage Handbook No. 4. By Mark Diancono (Hugh Fearnley-Wotsits gardener) Very good in my humble opinion...

Can anyone recommend a book that would be worth buying by a complete novice ?

        Thanks in advance, Leicester Newbie.
Bob Flowerdew 'Going Organic' its full of very good info, and its not hard to follow, i also love Alan Titchmarsh 'The Kitchen Gardener' n Carol Klein 'Grow Your Own Veg' she's also got 'Grow Your Own Fruit' as well, that's well worth a look , you'll find one that's perfect for you........eventually .

Go to a big book shop or GC and have a thumb thru.
