  • recommend a Sat Nav?

Can anyone recommend a Sat Nav please?

The one we have (Vodafone) is absolute rubbish ~ every time we've used it, it's taken us the wrong way. Utterly unreliable: we even ended up in someone's garden once

It also once actually told us to "turn right" then "turn right" then "turn right" ... yes, we drove round in a complete circle.

Mr Sheds has now been convinced to buy a good one, but we don't know which is a good one

Redthorn, thanks for that. I did a search on Sat Nav, but it didn't pick up Satnav (as one word). I'll have a browse.

I had a tom tom 1 and it was good for the money. I then had 2 vehicles with them built in...I also had a handheld dell with one in and it kept freezing up. Drove me mad.

I have been using The Car Trek 200 for the last few years with no problems at all... i highly reccomend it if you want a no-fuss sat-nav.

My daughter was involved in an horrendous accident caused by another (exhausted) driver following a not-very-good sat nav and basically being told he was on a mini roundabout when he was actually at a junction. Can't advise on one as OH thinks he's a good navigator and 'anyone can read a map!!!' Ask Lynda, she'll tell you I had to phone her when we got hopelessly lost trying to find her house. BUT, it had taken half an hour of driving round before he agreed to let me make the call.

              Mods... slightly rude joke.

Why does a man need five million sperm? Because only one will ask directions.

OH has a Navman that he's had for a good few years and it's always been great. I've got a Binatone Carrera and it's great for usability and directions, but the battery doesn't last long (and my lighter/power point doesn't work for some reason).

My daughter has a Tom Tom1. Its the first times she's had a sat nav but has found it reliable and very easy to use.

I have a Navman. I`ve had it 2 years now and I`m happy with it.
