my dad who has had driving jobs all his life and coach drove for over 20 years as well swears by the tomtoms, hes had 3 of these, 2 he managed to loose out of his pocket or car door (own stupidity) and never let him down would still be on the 1st if hadnt lost the 1st 2. he has the tomtom 940 live now and says its brilliant, hes had a navman this use to take him off and on every motorway exit without need and into peoples drive way. oh has a mio satnav and also has a driving job this has been good and reliable but not quite as easy to update as the tomtom, oh wants a tomtom but the mio works well for the few occasions he needs it so will wait till no good then will get a tomtom our selfs hope this helps,

Hi
I have a Garmin, a little cheaper than tomtom, I find it good to use, but it the driver that counts.
If u are a total stranger, its harder, satnavs are a very good guide. You are safer with a satnav, compared to being totally lost.
I got led down a single track, dead end road by my passenger a few weeks ago, I had to do a u turn in my minibus.

We bought a TomTom One XL Europe for when we went to Tuscany last year. Got us there without a problem and home again. Simple to use, easy to follow and pretty darned accurate.
Brother-in-law has a Sony one which he says is rubbish - he uses ours now.

I have a Tom-Tom One XL and a Garmin Navi 200i.
The Garmin is better as it sticks to the window better and the camera warnings do not cut in unless you are over the limit.
Of the two I prefer the garmin. My phone has more Processing power than the Computers NASA used to fake the Moon Landings

A map is only as good as the reader. If the reader tells you you should have turned left back there, then SatNav's for you.
WifeNav never worked for us, and since going TomTom we've not had an argument about getting lost.A simple dude trying to grow veg. http://haywayne.blogspot.com/
