The only thing i dont like about it is that pathetic Carol Klein woman. Honestly why? I guess she meets the needs of someone out there but i have no idea who. Honestly- i just fast forward her.

By showing people how to create plants for free from ones with they or they friends already have she is catering for a great deal of cash strapped people who want a beautiful garden full of colour and don't want (or can't afford) to spend a fortune on garden centre pots.

I think I'd find her enthusiam wearying if I lived with her but I find her tips very useful and the last word I would use to describe her is pathetic.

Pathetic, well, I suppose you're entitled to your opinion, actually what she is is an experienced and very highly regarded gardener, not just a personality gardener. But then, that's because she's a PROPER gardener who actually meets the needs of plants people who are still struggling to watch GW not the instant gratification, young and trendy people viewers that you seem to be.

Obviously many of the commentators on the BBC Forums are right, the new GW is meant for people with short attention spans looking for 'quick fixes'. "Big up the show" - there you go, you do yoof speak, you should get a job on Gardener's World.

I enjoyed Carol Kleins bit about propagating. I've never done it before and if I can save several pounds by making my own new plants, I'm all for it.

Well, I assume that you've never met Carol Kline and only see her on the tv so I don't see how you can make that sort of judgement about her. Surely you wouldn't encourage the children you teach to make judgements about people on the basis of watching a television series? At least she IS a gardener, not a personality.

I used to watch Geoff Hamilton years ago before I became interested in gardening. It was just a pleasure to watch and listen to a straightforward presentation by someone who was obviously keen and knowledgeable, yet without being either histrionic or condescending

I'v watched it since, especially when Monty Don was a presenter. But I haven't watched it for weeks now; the last few I saw were just drivel
