Pure hemp oil works for me - I have psoriasis on my hands so they get seriously cracked sometimes! Or, Neutrogena Norwegian Fisherman Formula is very good too.
Can anyone recommend a good hand cream to repair gardening hands?!
I use (boots) "ALTERNATIVES" "Dry Skin Relief Cream", it has evening primrose oil, wheat germ and aloe vera in it....and it rubs in so easy, it smells nice too
Rather than try to repair damaged hands, use surgical gloves to protect your hands in the first place, maybe a barrier cream before you start. If you do get chapped dry skin after gardening, wash your hands in cold or luke warm (not hot) water and give them a good scrub with a soft nail brush before using hand cream.
I you'st to have a handle on the world .. but it BROKE!!

If the neighbours saw me walking around wearing surgical gloves they would lock their doors and call the police
Nuetrogena (sp?), I use it all the time, a great barrier and repair cream. My other half also uses it when shooting during the winter. Not too pricey and very effective.

i second this, by far the best I have tried, we have to use moisturiser at work after having hands in surgical gloves all day and this is the stuff that really works.

I LOVE 'Helping Hands' from Lush. My hands get really, really, dry and this stuff is just gorgeous and leaves them really soft and smooth.
If there is a Lush store near you (and you can stand the smell, I know I lot of people can't even walk down a street with a Lush shop in it!) you can pop in and ask for a sample. The staff are usually very helpful!
As an occasional eczema sufferer I use E45, to wash my hands all the time (soap allergy - well fragrance really), brilliant as face cream/any cream really...
