Baking Tray recommendation!

Hi all, we got a new baking tray last week from Debenhams (when they had their 25% off day), and having used it Mr D has pronounced it the best he's ever used (and having sampled his wares I have to agree!)

The tray we got is an Anolon Muffin Tin, very hard annodised and wipes clean even with burnt on stuff! Mr D chose it over the normal cake tins cos it was deeper, and having had some of the mince pies he made on it (very deep and loads of filling, so moist and tasty!) and some of his secret family recipe Coconut Buns (I'm sure if you all gang up on him he will share the recipe), I have to say I am very impressed!

We also got a Spring-form cake tin, with the removeable side, which has also passed muster and had a big thumbs up from Mr D!

Did they have any flat baking sheets? - was thinking at the weekend that mine are a bit of a disgrace and was thinking of getting some new.

Hi Alison, yes they did, they do a full range of bakeware, loaf tins, roasting tins, baking sheets, bun tins, muffin tins, mini muffin tins etc, Mr D was eyeing some of the rest of their range up too, but he will have to wait a bit yet!

Thanks - have just been given some vouchers for Debenhams (a Christmas perk from work) so that might be another thing to add to my list of possibilities. A good roasting tin that I can use to make gravy on the hop is at the top of the list, assuming that they have any. Will have to look out for their next discount day or try and hang on for the sales.

The Anolon roasting tin is on my list too, its lovely, very well made and has a stainless steel rack to raise the meat up if you need it, plus 2 handles that look nice and easy to use when its full! I dont think it was cheap, but I'm fed up of buying cheaper stuff that only lasts for so long before you have to replace it, I'd much rather pay a little more nowadays for something thats going to last!

Actually Alison, we are waiting for the January Sales or a discount event too! lol!

Large department store Jennie, have a huge range of stock, some very good quality, usually at reasonable prices, take a look at their website for an idea!

I have changed a lot of my baking ware to silicon, especially things such as muffin tins and loaf tins. They are a boon. Sponge tins et al though are best as springform tins.

I'm just starting to get into silicone and have a silicone kugelhupf type mould to try. Just need some baking time now. Every spare minute seems to disappear so I don't even get on the forum as much.

I've seen the silicone ones, but didnt really fancy them, I'm not sure why, but they just didnt appeal to us. However, if others can give us some good feedback then I suppose our viewpoint could be changed!

I dont fance the silicone ones gues its someting about putting plastic in the oven just dont seem right to me

I have a flexible muffin mould (from Lakeland Ltd) and its fantastic! I did cheese and tomato muffins and they just popped out, no fuss at all!

After Christmas I'm after a flexible loaf tin and lasagne pan.....
