  • Which book?

Hi folks, one of my neighbours is just about to retire and she's commented to me a few times that she'd like to start growing her own veg.

I thought for her retirement gift, I'd buy her a book to help her get started.

Can anyone recommend a suitable one please? (that isn't too expensive of course!)

    Thanks

    SN

The Hessayan one's a bit 'old fashioned'? Surely as a pressie Carole Klein or Alan Titchmarsh's veggie growing guide might be better? Good content, nice pictures.

Hi, Jekka's herb book is fabulous, and herbs are a pretty easy and usefull place to start GYO. WH Smith has always got lots of good gardening books on offer if you've got one near.
