  • Jamie Oliver Flavour Shaker

Have any of you got one of these and are they any good. I love making my own salad dressing and just wondered if this would help.

    Thanks

Have heard good and bad things and thought that they might be a bit gimiky (not really one for too many gadgets) - tend to wizz mine up with my hand blender and that works fine. Would be interested in any feedback on the JO thing though.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I had thought of one of these for xmas, but then heard the price. For all it does your better with your hand blender like Alison says, you still need to chop your herbs for the JO gadget too. Anyhow it'd just mean extra washing up.

Sorry, but a flavour shaker just seems a little too much like a gadget too far!

I've seen them, and just thought why? I'd much rather use my mortar and pestle and then shake it up (if need be) in a jar like NTG suggested!

Just a bit too expensive for what it is methinks, celebrity fashion accessory is what comes to mind!

Why not get a small stainless steel vacuum flask (cheap at Tesco) then put an old mouse ball in it. Just like a JO gadget but the stuff will stay fresh longer???

Seems a bit harsh to Castrate an elderly mouse just to make a salad dressing

Its amasing that in two or three thousand years we can only graduate from a Pestle & Mortar to a flaming 'Flavour shaker'

Thanks for the responses, I'm not going to bother getting one but just wondered if it worked as well as he says on ad. I've got a hand blender at the mo that I bought from Tesco for about a fiver. Sticking with that!
