Nigella Lawson "How to eat" Book

I highly rate Nigella as she goes for no fuss cooking but this "picture free" book is a great read as well as being a cracking cookery book.

Dont let the lack of pictures put you off, it is a first rate book for all levels of cook.

I won't be buying the book Piglet, but I did enjoy her on the TV last night. Yes, I can see her attractions - as a cook off course.

This one was first printed a few years ago, before she really got a name for gastroporn, it is good.

Agreed, this is a great book, written at the time when it was still more gastro and less porn.

the thing with nigella is she has no idea about seasons, she promotes the wrong veg at the wrong time of year. the norm in her familly even back in day due to money, but very irresponsible in todays fragile climate!

until recently though, very few recipe books were seasonality orientated. To be honest I find her recipes easy to follow, work well and take a lot of the overstuffiness out of cooking.

Even Gary Rhodes has brought a "simple" recipe book out and he is renowned for very elaborate and intricate food.

Don't like Gary Rhodes in general at all as his food IMHO is somewhat poncey although would guess that a simple one is somewhat better. Somebody bought me the Domestic Godess book by Nigella a few years ago, it's Ok but haven't' used it much. Anyway, one of my New Year Resolutions is to stop buying cookery books as I ran out of space ages ago and have loads of recipes in the ones I've got that have never been tried.
