Try MadeInSheffield.com For Sheffield made gifts +44(0)114 2493770 a selection of good quality pruning knives and of course, as the name suggests, Sheffield made. Don't know if it is because I was born and raised near Sheffield, but I have this - probably slightly unhealthy - knife obsession and every one in my house has to be razor sharp. Of the ones on this particular website I can recommend the Wolstenholme Peach Pruning Knife, it keeps a lovely edge.
Into each life some rain must fall........but this is getting ridiculous.
Not a specific gardeners knife but I use a Buck folding lock knife for stacks of jobs in the garden and lottie. It keeps a good edge and is very well made. If looked after it should last for years.
I only use a knife for taking cuttings and such like occasionally (prefer secateurs) so can't say whether a knife designed for the job would be better. However, for having near at hand for cutting string, tie wraps, and all those other little jobs it is fantastic.
I was bought a "Featherstone & Durbar" Pruning knife for my 40T Birthday from my OH'S Mum & Dad, It has a stag antler handle, to be honest I don't use it because its so nice I don't want to spoil it. Apart from that, I use an old "Marshalls" pruning knife I've had for years, why, because I love the way it feels in my hand, it keeps nice and sharp, and does the job.
