  • Sowing and Knitting Site Recommendations Needed

    Hi Folks,

Looking at Wifes xmas and birthday presents (same day, at least I don't forget!!) and she has hinting on a sowing box.

As she has also started knitting I wondered if anyone can recommend a good online site they have used?

    As always I thank you.
    Cheers

    Danny

          Join Knitty: Fall 2009

It's free and you get new patterns every few months and access to a massice archive. There are very few things I want to knit that I can't find a pattern for there.

            Thanks Flum,

I'll let the wife know although I'm already getting frightened about the thought of jumpers, scarves etc:-)
            Cheers

                    What are you afraid of?

I have knit OH some very good ganzies and cardies. They outlast any shopbought models.

Here's my favourite site for unusual toys and knitted decorations with some free patterns available to download online.

Jean Greenhowe Designs Official Website - Jean Greenhowe free knitting patterns, knitted dolls, toys

Also details of how to obtain other pattern books.

Jean Greenhowe's knitted toys are of the highest quality in detail and are actually quite easy to follow. Many rely on a basic shape and build around that. A beginner could tackle some of the simpler designs - but some experience needed for the more complicated items. And what better way to use up scraps of knitting wool?
