Ratchet Loppers

Hi

I am looking for recommendations on Loppers or probably ratchet loppers.

I have some serious cutting to do and I am looking for a high quality loppers that will cut the largest diameter branches possible without self destructing.

Hi Galileo! I have a pair of ratchet loppers made by Spear & Jackson. They are silver in colour with black grips, I don't know if they do any others, but I can definitely recommend these. I have abused them since, cutting conifer branches and stems that I really should have used a saw on, and they haven't let me down.

Ironically I bought them last summer at a Land Rover show of all places, and they only cost me a tenner!

I have been using one to cut down my Hazel tree. It makes easy work of branches up to 3 inches. It has an extendable handle.

If you have smaller branches, I would stick with a normal lopper.
