    Hi

Does anyone have the Vegetable Gardeners Almanac software, if so would you recommend it?

I have bought it and am in two minds about it. On the surface it looks really good, but I am having a little trouble actually using it. I am not that good at sitting and learning how to use software and my hubby says it could be more user friendly. It took me ages to set out my beds but now that they are done it is okay, although i can't seem to find a way of putting in any dimensions.
The chap who wrote the software has recently moved and has a new garden so is showing how he can use the sortware to manage his new plot as a trial.
I will review it at the end of the season to see if it was worthwhile!
May all our seeds germinate and grow

We have it too, lots of good ideas in it, such as plant info, planting history, yields, dates etc, plus a great tool for storing all your recipies and allowing you to search them by ingredient / course (starter / main / etc), but not easy to get to grips with! ATM I'm in 2 minds whether it was a worthwhile purchase, but it does work ok.

At the moment, the VGA is the only generally available software that would be suitable for my new venture so I'll be ordering a copy and as with the others will be able to report back what I think of it. I've had a look at some other databases but they are really designed for large scale agricultural production, whereas the VGA should be able to cope with my acreage no bother. Time will tell !!

I have "plotcrop". It's from www.wys-systems.demon.co.uk where you can download a demo version for free. It cost me £25 and is updated free by the supplier as new versions come out.

I use it every day and find it is great for what I need. I would recommend it.

That looks interesting Digger, wish I'd seen it before ordering the VGA, would have done a bit more research before making my mind up!
