  • A watering can for Bean

Bean has taken to copying Mummy and Daddy - his most recent mimic is to hold the watering can (the big 10 ltr one) under the outside tap and then to try and tip it out/splash the water around with his hands.

I'm going to buy him his own - anyone with any recommendations of what/where to buy?

I'd imagine the Early Learning Centre have got a selection of sandpit toys that will probably include plastic watering cans.
    Just a guess.

I bought a lovely one from B & Q for my 2 and half year old(bit expensive at £6.98 but I couldnt resist) its a metal one, painted and is in the guise of a rabbit, but you can get a frog or a cat. Its a bit hard to describe really and my camera isnt working so I cant post a picture. But I have just looked on their website and you can see them on there. Not sure I am allowed to post the link though-if you put in watering can on the search, its page 3.

Funnily enough our 2nd grand-daughter (not quite 2) was here yesterday - with her green wellies and pink watering can. They love it. She kept shouting 'more!' when the can was empty. So sorry, no recommendations - she brought the can with her - but she also picked up and used the green one from Wilko's that we bought for her big sister (at school yesterday) - it's only cheap plastic but does the job fine.

Haws are doing a cute little plastic one (for houseplants) that's about £4.

My little ones will be using 500ml pop bottles though (get them recycling and all that)

The ones with the little safety nozzle tops so you can close them are good...help to prevent over watering.

If you want to go for summat more proper then ELC do some nice sets...including cans, gloves and tools. Not sure on the prices though.

I bought the cute little Haws one from Morrisons £2.59 on Sunday and one from Wilko's for Little C which was a bit bigger but no rose.

I was thinking of that too. I have seen them and they have shrunk a bit on the one I bought, but the price has too.

Cheers Ollie - I always forget about ELC unless I walk past them.

I've find just the thing - even better than a watering can.

Met the family for lunch and LadyWayne has bought Bean one of these:

Active Yellow Duck Watering Can, 5060169655065

They had a bouncy castle at the pub, and I could be wrong, but I'd say Bean is looking better...

G's got an Emma Bridgewater one with little mice dancing around it. It was from the Chatsworth Garden Shop. She's got a little trowel and fork to 'help out' with as well. They have some nice children's gardening stuff for when you're next passing, and fancy burning through an unnecessarily large amount of money.

They have the one's like Rachel mentioned at Matalan today, very cute. Pigs, cows, sheep, chickens - if they had of been bigger i'd of been tempted myself!
