  • Wessex Mill Bread Flours

I cannot recommend this site enough. All the breads I've tried are delicious and easy to make with a recipe does all approach to their flours. The Apple and Cinnamon is especially superb. The Malt Loaf flour is almost perfect but if you want a true sticky black Malt Loaf then you need to soak the fruit for at least 24 hours and add Malt Extract to the bread mixture. If you want to make it especially naughty soak the fruit in Port.

Looks nice flour, but the postage of £8 is a bit much for me

The price of living on the Isle of Wight I'm afraid.

Since when was Southampton on the Isle of Wight, must have moved since I lived in Hampshire. Also would have thought Southampton was nearer Wessex Mills than Staffordshire. Apparently they sell it in Dubai ,I'd better get my daughter to send me some!!!!! Its such a pity that postage costs prohibit quite a few of us in trying these very good products.

Actually I was assuming that Northepaul lived on the Isle of Wight as he was quoting Isle of Wight postage charges and for the rest of the U.k. The postage charges are less than £8.00 if you order under 25Kg (which is by far more than enough for the average person.).

Maybe if you looked at the website you could see what the delivery charges are. BTW the delivery charges are expensive (£6.35) because they use FedEx to make sure that the flour arrives in as fresh a condition as possible.

Wessex Mills flours seem to be available in a lot of farm shops; perhaps check out your local ones before paying any mail order postage?

Ok, there's no need to get arsey!! I misread the postage and thought it was £1.65 more than it is....I am SOOOO sorry for not looking closely enough to satisfy you Buleste.
