A hoe edge needs to be sharp but not absolutely so, like a razor
Get an eight inch half round file, or a dry carborundum stone, often called a scythe stone. Or ask for advice in an agricultural merchants, or a traditional ironmongers, if you can still find one
Could try Attleborough Accessories Attleborough Accessories Norfolk, UK - Hunting Supplies and Equipment. I have found them very pleasant and helpful whenever I have phoned them

      Hi
You'll find if its that blunt that you will need to use a file first as the above post suggests otherwise you'll have blisters before you gain an edge with a sharpening stone! Once you've taken ' the shoulder off' (as my father would say) with the file, maintain the edge with the stone. However, I tend to stick with the file full stop!

      Can I say happy hoeing?
