  • Where to buy potato storage sacks

Can anyone tell me the best place to buy the hessian sacks for potato storage please?

I am 'hoping' to get an edible crop of spuds this year as last year I harvested them too early and they tasted like soap!

I will leave them a bit longer this time and not listen to my daughter who was a bit too eager to see if her potatoes had grown.

I got ours from ebay. Think Dobbies sell em but I reckon they'd be expensive.

Last year I kept mine in feed sacks. The paper three-layer type that horse and chicken feed comes in. The only drawback was, I had nowhere 'safe' to put them, so they stayed in the Lounge!

Hi, Got mine off Ebay, a good size and good hessian, £2.10 for two plus £2 postage, I think the postage go's down if you buy more. (potloads)

            Cheers

I was pondering the very same thing the other two o'clock in the morning, as ya do, lying awake in bed with a dead 'hurty hip', and I did wonder about the sanity of buying hessian material from John Lewis and making my own, and then, of course, (others ARE available, obviously kiddywinkies?) like Tesco Hessian shopping bags, and just converting those with a bit of a nip and a tuck here'n'there.

It'll be interesting to re-group later and see what's worked well for us, and where we sourced our various Potato storing methods from, me thinks.
