Anyway on to why i need your help, i was hoping that maybe some of you could recomend any books, i was hoping to get one that is all encompassing from woodland to sea shore but if i cant get that anything you guys have found helpfull will be great
    Many thanks

You can't go far wrong with Food for Free by Richard Mabey. It covers some funghi, seashore including shellfish and you can get a handy Collins Gem edition that fits in a pocket

There are also some River Cottage Guides which would fit the bill nicely - one on mushrooms, another the seashore, and a further (to be published august I think - check Amazon) one on hedgerows. I can heartily recommend all of them, and if you are wanting to know what to do with what you find, try out the Preserves guide too.

        Enjoy

        Adam

(grammar police - I think you meant 'mussels', not 'muscles' in your first post - unless you are hunting for rabbits and pigeons and wotnot - )

Agree that the River Cottage ones are good, actually the mushroom one is a really good starter book as it concentrates on a few common varities so you can get the hang of it then there are better books to move onto. Agree also the Collins book is useful, especially as it's pocket size and cheap

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Oh dear, I hope you like it, not seen it yet as it's not out but the others are definitely good

I have the bread one which I like, and if it enables me to do more foraging, then I am all for it
                  Thanks for the recomendation, Alison.
