I think this is the right place to post this thread, please forgive if not

My old wheelbarrow has decided enough is enough and the wheel refuses to move round

Before I get a new one i was thinking of one of these truck things. Due to the cost I was wondering if any grapes use one or could recommend anything different. When i get to the lottie with barrow I felt my arms were out of the sockets, I have about 1/4 mile walk, and could put the arm power to better use.
    Please help.

I bought one last year, but it is so heavy to pull I don't use it that much. My hubby likes it though and it is very well made. I got mine from Costco for around £75.I have seen adverts recenltly where there is a liner inside the trolley which could be useful

LBS sell a variety of garden trolleys similar to this one and also like the ones you see in garden centres. Have a look at their website www.lbs-group.co.uk

Looks like it would be better fitted with an engine!

          Yes!

I have one of those, bought from my local mail order specialist's "show shop". Coopers of Stortford for £50.

Excellent item, I'm going to cut a bit of 18mm ply to fit in te bottom though as I reckon a point load might bend the wire mesh and ply would spread the load better.

See my blog for fencing exploits with it.

I have one and they are great! However if it's full it often take both hubby and I to move it one to pull and the other to push it! THe only problem is that as it is bigger than a wheel barrow the temptation is to over fill it thats when the moving becomes an issue, if you stick to smaller loads it is much easier than a wheel barrow as long as you have a reasonable surface to move over

I also quite fancy one of these!

Our veg beds are 400ft from the garden gate, and a wheelbarrow is tricky to manouevre (as we've still to sort paths out)

Hmm, but I can see the problem if they are over-loaded or have heavy things in...

bubblewrap is saving up for a 'putt-putt' we have seen them in Crete everywhere and they seem ideal I think they run on two-stroke petrol, but I don't know if you'd get a road licence for them here.

Anything that is not UK type approved will have to have a VOSA inspection for safety if used on a public highway. I have been down this road b4. Well nasty. I wouldn't bother trying to import a 'putt putt' either as you might get saddled with import duties and complications with the DVLA. If the trike was to be used only on private land then there is no issue. Plenty of 'em about in France , Belgium and here in Germany. Go find one, buy it and stick it on the back of a trailer. They will fit into the back of a high line Ford Tranny as well... If you have a shed in your lotty you can keep a clapped out 'sit on mower' and a trailer to cart things about in. Or am I going down the wrong track here? Snadger, I have a spare V8 for a motorised trolley btw....

You should be fit to get most of your fruit and veg off the plot and all the manure topsiol etc back in too. Price - about £7000

That is the issue here Beefy, fatness not fitness. Should be able to build a motorised truck like that for about 300 quid.
