  • Super holiday cottage!

Having just come back from a second super holiday - I would highly recommend this:
    www.sykescottages.co.uk (the website)
the actual cottage is reference 1380 The Malthouse near Ludlow, Shropshire.
What a FAB place! There are facilites for disabled people as well.
Although it may seem a bit expensive at peak times - it is well worth a visit if you want a peaceful, relaxing holiday. You can always travel into Ludlow or Bridgnorth if you need anything.

Lesley - its wonderful! The cottage itself is in a place called Wheathill - in the middle of nowhere between Ludlow and Bridgnorth on the B6364. It was actually mentioned in the Doomsday Book! The owner Mr Russell has a small organic, rare breeds farm attached - with alpacas grazing in the fields behind the cottage and lovely cows as well. If anyone has watched Rick Steins Food Heros, you will know all about the excellent food shops/cafes/market in Ludlow - I was in my element! Bridgnorth is excellent with a railway that goes up the hill - Dexter loves that! There is a fab castle called Stokesay Castle near Craven Arms. There is a super walk at the Carding Mill Valley near Church Stretton, Ironbridge Gorge.....I could go on and on! Suggest people visit the Tourist Information Centre site for Ludlow and have a good look. DDL

Thanks for that link. It's always good to have recommendations on places to stay and I adore Ludlow. They have a very good food festival in late summer.

How lucky lyndap! I just love the place! my sister in law used to live above a butchers in bridgnorth and had her own stall on the market on a saturday (and ludlow during the week) selling items of furniture that she had restored. Cant wait to go back. DDL
