Got that sinking feeling

Although early for the flower buckets I have been known to put them into one anyhoo - just plant them right in the bottom and earth up as they grow. That way they get the burying they need and then fresh compost to earth up as they grow.

That's how I do it Shirl, but I haven't replaced the blowaways that blew away, I really can't put the flower buckets on the windowsills inside and I think it's too early to put the toms out. There are some smashing ideas, thanks very much.

I've just cobbled one together by cutting the bottom off the same size pot, put it over the tom and filled to the top. It's not the nicest looking thing in the world and a bit fiddly, but it would do the job. I've also found one of the pots you've been telling me about that is about 8" deep and potted one of the toms into that. Think I'm going to order some more and hope they turn up PDQ!

I know, you're fed up with me now. The ones I've cobbled together are going to be a bit of a bu@@er to pot into the buckets when the time comes aren't they? I might sacrifice the three I've done by leaving them outside and we'll see what happens. I can't get them on the windowsills, they're FTB.
