  • Birthday gift ideas please!

    Hello all

I am looking for a wonderful birthday gift for my chappie and hope that some of you may have some suggestions! I was thinking something foodie and a bit special as it is a semi-significant birthday.

Last weekend we went to Staveley, where he did a bread baking course here Cookery school, cookery course | Welcome to Lucy Cooks Cookery School in the Lake District, UK which was awesome and he has come back very enthused! Is there anything bread or foodie related that I could get him? Good bread books would also be appreciated

We have a very good 'Foodie' type shop not too far from here. I often go there and make up a Hamper for family members for Christmad, but Birthdays deserve Hampers too. Just buy an attractive basket, or decorate a sturdy box, line it with scrunched up tissue paper, and fill it with goodies. You can also help him eat it!

Have you looked at the River Cottage site Florian? Loads of things on there.

Oooh, I love LucyCooks! I did a course there a couple of years ago - it was great!

Could you make him up a hamper full of different bread flours, and ingredients to put in them (sundried tomatoes etc) then he can bake as much as he wants (and you can eat it!!)
