The knife I use for peeling veggies has snapped, blade was about 2" long but with no sharp point. Does any know where I can find a good knife for my veggies (I cannot stand using a vegetable peeler)

I've been through loads of knives. Currently on gustav, and a "samurai" range. Got them both cheap out of the back of a van when a company went bust and needed to flog off it's kitchen ware. They're expensive to buy in the shops, but damn they are excellent.

Have a wander round to the charity shops... You can get lots of kitchen odds and bods for a few coppers.

I'm very fussy about knives, they have to be small & sharp for me.
