  • Joseph Bentley!

Morning everyone. I recently purchased a JB midi fork from all places TK Maxx! The thing is great, it feels quality and is very sturdy. So I went back and bought myself a small JB stainless trowel, this thing is indestructible. My neighbour has a few tools but they are cheap and have all nearly broken now. He says I am a fool for spending allot of money on garden tools, but being a builder I know how valuable a good well made tool is. I am thinking now of investing in all JB tools as they are of outstanding quality. I know allot of it is the name but I also like the feel of the wooden handles, as I hate plastic. Anyone else use these tools?

I always get them if I can. Their long handled bulb planter is brilliant. I use it all year round.

As Steve points out - It is often expensive to buy cheap - Good quality tools will last a lifetime.

(Tools from my 'armoury' include: Elwell Fork, 40+ years old, Rolcut Secateurs 50+yrs, Brades trowel 70+yrs, Bulldog hand fork 50+yrs, Inherited, Spade, rake and hoe all over 50 yrs old - all in use most days!!)

Bently have a nice range of small tools for children. They are part of the Solus Group which includes Yeoman Tools.

For the Joseph Bentley tools enthusiasts - Wyevale are selling 2 for the price of 1 (lowest priced one free) to Garden Club members. Didn't notice the expiry date but think its on through November. I may treat myself!

I only use JB spades and forks. I did have one where the spade split where the socket is formed but a photo and an email had a new one sent out. They are fabulous bits of kit.

If you like JB tools with stainless steel buy them now. They are changing to carbon steel in the very near future
