I too discovered that I can use my bulb planter for lots of things. The only time I've used it for bulbs was last week when I was planting hyacinths into the ground from the bowls and baskets they had flowered in. That gadget looks quite difficult to use.

I don't have the energy I used to have TD, so it looks a bit on the strenuous side for me - a bit like the compost aerator I bought a couple of years ago that I have used but once! I tend to rely on my youngest son for the physical stuff
Och if it helps people with dickie backs well and good. What concerned me a bit was he was planting his spuds 8" apart. I plant my earlies a minimum of a foot apart and my lates 15"
