  • Wilkinsons

I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right section but anyway, yesterday in Wilkinsons I bought a tomato growhouse reduced down to £9.
It has thin but sturdy metal posts, in short sections. All the plastic appears to be pretty stout. The short posts are connected with sections of tubular plastic.
The cover it's true to say, is fairly thin feeling but it has three proper eyelets on the top which will allow water to run away so it doesn't "pool" and stretch the plastic and it will also provide a bit of ventilation if the weather changes and you haven't remembered to unzip the door.
I have also wrapped a bit of thin fleece round the front and sides of the rack (under the cover) as we still have the possibility of frost.I have been able to fit one of my greenhouse seed tray racks inside and it is currently looking after my sweetcorn and runner beans to harden them off.
I tried to buy a replacement cover for it but they had them for the other houses but not this. So, at £9 and exactly the size I wanted to fit my rack and space it seemed sensible to buy a second one!!
Because the poles are short it all fitted into a neat box so no major storage problems.
    Hope somebody finds this helpful.
Argos also have a walk-in greenhouse and a small sturdy polycarbonate walk in at half price

I've bought these before and found them to be great. The three holes on the top are for your bamboo canes to go through, so your toms grow up. The only problem is that these can't take bush tomatoes, as last year I found out to my cost and ended up with ripped and repaired covers. Lots if places sell them for around this price. Home Bargains for one.
They get you out of a hole when it comes to growing tomatoes, that's for sure. Don't do as I did though and end up with six in a row

Well there ya go! I never thought of placing the canes through the hole. Mind you, I wasn't really planning on growing my toms in them as I have had to place it in a fairly shady spot.
Can toms grow in a shady spot. Wouldn't ripen would they. Hmmmmmm
Well the similar Argos ones for £18 got a battering in the reviews because the water pooled on the flat top so when i saw these holes I thought Aha Wilkos saw the sense!!
