  • Carpet washers?

We have broken our old G*blin wet vac carpet cleaner thing, so need to replace it. Do any of you have any recommendations, please? Comments good or bad on the model you have, would be useful.

I am looking at getting one with the water spray/wash facility, not just one that sucks up water. Your assistance would be gratefully received. Oh, and it must be a cylinder type, I don't like upright models lol!

    Thanks in advance.

I have a Bissell, but it's upright and doesn't have any fancy spray function lol I love it though, and it's much better than other makes that I've used in the past, including the carpet doctor ones that you can rent.

The carpet doctor ones are rubbish. With two dogs, two kids, one of whom is male, making two men, it's time for me to get a wooden floor
A long time ago I had a Vax, which was good, but it was just me on my own back then. I'm cleaner

Thank you Ladies. I have been avoiding the V*x models, as they are all plastic, like our old one. I don't wish to lay blame, but 'one of us' is quite heavy-handed, and this is the cause of the demise of the previous one. Are they very robust?

Mine was but we are talking ages ago. How about a trip to Jonny Loos, just to have a look. You don't have to buy there. Your guy sounds like my guy!

I'd vote for the upright Bissel too I'm afraid.
We bought it when we were building the house, to clean off all the plaster etc before the carpets were fitted. It's so awesome we kept it. The other night I knocked a large glass of cola over onto the cream carpet in the sitting room...5-10 minutes with the Bissel...cola gone!

The orange plastic dustbin-shaped thing has won. Thank you eBay!
